ABOUT WAYNE

I am Wayne Simper. I have been married to Jerry Kay Simper for 32 years, and I have
three kids Megan, Hagen, and Denim.

I am a lifelong resident of Vernal and a third-generation business owner. I
currently own a ranch in Vernal, so I know the struggles of ranching, water, and
business.

I have served in the county on several different boards for many years. I believe
this experience will benefit me in serving Uintah County as your next
commissioner. I was on the Uintah County Commissioners Public Lands Advisory
Board for 15 plus years as well as served on the Ashley National Forest Resource
Advisory Committee for 11 years. I have also served and currently serve on the boards for the Ashley Central Irrigation Company for 19 years, the Ashley Water Users Association for 10 years, and the Greendale Water Company for 8 years.

As my kids grew up, I coached many of their sports teams including football, soccer, ice hockey. I was the Uintah Utes High School Hockey Head Coach for many years where my number one goal was to instill integrity, trust, and hard work into the kids that I coached. During this time I also served on the Boards for the Uintah Basin Junior Livestock Show, and Ashley Valley Amateur Hockey Association.

I’ve been active and have served in my church for many years. The Lord Jesus
Christ is the Savior, King, and Ruler of my life.
